There are hundreds of other places that you can visit whilst staying at Hops Cottage, we have left a sample of the local attractions brochures at the cottage for you to peruse if you need some ideas on what to do when you arrive. Please feel free to use them.

The village is delightful with the Botanical Gardens, beach and zoo. There are childrens swings and slides two minutes walk from the cottage, you can see some pictures of these in the Shaldon Gallery.

The restaurants and pubs are all very close with the Ness Hotel being the furthest away at about 6 minutes walk!

In Exeter the Underground Passages and the Cathedral are worth a look and there is an impressive array of shops. Close to this is the award winning Crealy Adventure Park.

There are balloon trips available from Exeter Balloons.

You may like to travel a little further to Woodlands near Dartmouth.

Across the River from Dartmouth at Kingswear is the terminus of the other working steam railway the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway which runs from Kingswear back to Paignton.

Just outside Exeter is the Westpoint Exhibition Centre which hosts the Devon County Show in May and Rock Concerts, Antique Fairs, Exhibitions and many other events throughout the rest of the year.

The list is almost inexhaustible and much of it is available throughout the year.

Whatever you do, have a wonderful time!
